WORLD BOTANICAL GARDEN on The Big Island of Hawaii

Aloha, everybody out there! I'm a little shy and I like to hide a bit in all of this wonderful tropical foliage. The red hibiscus is one of my favorites, so I hang out here quite a bit, and can see all of the visitors to the GARDEN come and go!

Hi folks - I'm not as shy as "Collar Kitty" above - I like to get out and mingle with the guests as they come in to register and receive an anthurium and the map of what to see here in the Gardens.

The falls, surrounded by lush, tropical foliage, is your first stop on your Garden Tour - this is the view of these spectacular three tiered falls from the overlook.

Brightly colored HELICONIAS love the rainforest! These flowers last a long time in floral arrangements, and ship well to other parts of the world.

The African TULIP TREE is in bloom with these clusters of orange flowers.

A refreshing stream runs part way along the nearly level short trail. This isn't a hike - just a nice leisurely walk thru lush foliage and brightly colored flowers!

This is just one example of the many varieties of HIBISCUS, a five petaled flower that can have some interesting color combinations. The colors are usually very vibrant and rich.

THE REGISTRATION CENTER.....

After you've looked at the falls and have experienced the Rainforest, you come back to the Registration Center and have an encounter with these guys! Both the albino (white) peacock and the brightly colored one are very friendly, and get along with the variety of kitties that hang around here, greeting the visitors with true ALOHA spirit!

That's all for now, folks!
